General
What is Kredo Mobility?
Kredo Mobility is a South African platform that brings vehicle value, history, finance and identity verification together in one place, so dealers, banks and insurers can make faster, more confident decisions.
Which businesses use Kredo?
Dealerships, banks, insurers and other accountable institutions use Kredo to qualify leads, verify vehicles, onboard customers and manage risk across the sales and finance process.
Which cities or regions do you cover?
Our data sources and checks cover vehicles and consumers registered anywhere in South Africa.
Is there an option for individual car buyers or sellers?
Yes - CarFree is our dedicated platform for individual car buyers and sellers, covering vehicle value, history and finance eligibility checks. It runs on the same data as our dealer products but has its own site and experience. www.carfree.co.za
Getting Started & Pricing
How do I sign up my dealership?
Contact us via WhatsApp or email to arrange a no-cost, no-obligation trial. We'll get your dealership set up on ClientZone (our client portal) and walk your team through the products relevant to your workflow.
How is Kredo priced?
All Kredo products are billed strictly on a pay-per-use basis - there are no fixed monthly plans or subscription tiers. You only pay for the checks you actually run. Contact us for our Rate Card for current per-product pricing.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. New dealerships get a no-cost, no-obligation trial period to test the platform before committing to paid usage.
CarCredit
What is CarCredit?
CarCredit gives dealerships a fast, accurate financial snapshot of a potential buyer - in under 60 seconds, using just a name and ID number - so sales teams can prioritise qualified leads instead of chasing deals that will never get bank approval.
How accurate is CarCredit?
CarCredit reports have a 94% correlation with actual bank lending decisions.
Does running a CarCredit check affect the customer's credit score?
No. Unlike a formal bank application, CarCredit checks leave no footprint on the consumer's credit profile, so dealers can run multiple scenarios to structure the best deal without harming the customer's creditworthiness.
What does a CarCredit report include?
Among other things: a credit score (0 = Thin File, up to 940 = perfect profile), a debt summary (active accounts, instalments, arrears, judgments, debt review status), and a spending summary (opening balances, last payment dates, account activity).
CarTrust
What is CarTrust?
CarTrust is a vehicle forensics and legitimacy tool that helps dealerships detect risk - stolen vehicles, undisclosed accident damage, salvage history, bank-owned stock and odometer tampering - before they buy, trade in, or finance a vehicle.
What does a CarTrust report include?
SAPS stolen status, outstanding finance interest, accident/ insurance claim history, salvage status, mileage timeline, named ownership history, and verified factory vehicle specifications.
Where can I see what a report looks like before I commit?
Take a look at our sample report - it walks through the exact layout and information a completed CarTrust report contains.
How long does a vehicle history check take?
Most CarTrust checks return results in minutes.
What is the Kredo Certificate?
A single, verified vehicle record shared across banks, insurers and dealers involved in a transaction - removing duplicated checks and giving every party the same trusted information at no extra cost to view.
CarKYC
What is CarKYC?
CarKYC is Kredo's digital onboarding and compliance tool. It verifies a customer's identity - confirming who they are and flagging fraud risk - before you meet, pay, or hand over a vehicle, keeping your dealership compliant with the FIC Act.
How does identity verification work?
The customer takes a selfie, which is matched against Department of Home Affairs records using facial biometrics linked to the HANIS database. CarKYC also checks against global watchlists (UN Sanctions, FBI, Interpol, PEP lists).
Does CarKYC verify companies, not just individuals?
CarKYC verifies natural persons via biometric and Home Affairs checks. For corporate or juristic entity customers, ownership structure and Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) identification is handled as part of the compliance workflow, in line with FICA's requirement to identify any natural person owning 10% or more of the entity.
Do I need the other party's consent to verify their identity?
Yes - identity verification should only be run with the knowledge and consent of the person being verified.
CarValue
What is CarValue?
CarValue provides trade and retail vehicle valuations, free for life, based on real South African dealer market data - including regional and provincial pricing that some competitors don't offer.
How is a CarValue estimate calculated?
It's based on the vehicle's make, year, mileage and condition, weighed against current dealer market listings and standard depreciation modelling.
CarScan
What is CarScan?
CarScan is an AI-powered vehicle inspection tool. A WhatsApp link guides the customer through a 10-step photo capture process, and AI analyses the images to flag cosmetic damage - dents, scratches and other condition issues - before you ever see the car in person.
Do I need special equipment to use CarScan?
No - it works entirely through WhatsApp using a standard smartphone camera. No app download or extra hardware required.
Can CarScan replace a physical inspection?
It's designed for remote, desktop-level trade-in valuations and early screening - giving you a damage-first estimate before committing resources to a physical inspection.
CarLead
What is CarLead?
CarLead brings all of a dealership's digital conversations - across web, WhatsApp and other channels - into a single platform, so leads can be captured, qualified and tracked without falling through the cracks between departments.
Employee Vetting
What is Employee Vetting?
A pre-employment and ongoing risk-screening tool that verifies the people you engage with - staff, contractors or partners - before you bring them on board. Results are typically returned within 24 hours.
What does an Employee Vetting check include?
A criminal check and a qualification check.
API Marketplace
What is the API Marketplace?
It lets other businesses integrate Kredo's verification, valuation and credit data directly into their own products, rather than using the Kredo platform directly.
Data & Security
Is my dealership's and my customers' data secure?
Yes. All checks run through secure, encrypted processes, and personal information is never sold to third parties.
